What is Shayne PTA?

We are an non-profit organization made up of parents, teachers, volunteers, and administrators dedicated to supporting the students, teachers and staff through programs, family events, volunteer work, and teacher support.  We are always striving to provide the students with the best possible learning environment. We believe that strong schools make great communities and that there is no better way to get to know your community than to engage with your local school. 

What does the PTA do?

We raise money through ongoing fundraising programs throughout the year to assist teachers in providing some of the supplies and materials needed to enhance their students' learning experience. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to: room parents, teacher/staff appreciation team, sending in food for Teacher Luncheons, clipping box tops, helping to distribute City Saver coupon books and prizes, taking photographs, serving at our fall Fun Run, or spending a day as one of our Watch D.O.G.S. 

What does the PTA fundraising support?

    • School Events: Meet the Teacher Night, Kindergarten Orientation, Incoming Kindergarten Sneak-a-Peak, National Walk to School Day, Valentine's Dance, Boo Hoo Breakfast
    • Providing field trip t-shirts for all students and teachers
    • Funding for school clubs
    • Instructional materials for classrooms
    • Funding for the Kindergarten Mr. Richie Super Science program
    • Funding assistance for the school's Disney drama production
    • Materials for Specials programs (P.E. equipment, art supplies, music supplies/equipment, and technology supplies)
    • Playground equipment and ongoing landscaping needs
    • School community events (Family Movie Nights, Family Math and Literacy Nights, etc.)
    • Inflatables and pizzas for Field Day
    • Teacher/staff appreciation activities
    • Classroom and workshop grants for teachers
    • Classroom supplies for teachers
    • Faculty and staff luncheons and breakfasts throughout the year
